Shakti Dor Mask Campaign

COVID-19 has engulfed the entire world today and is ruthlessly spreading from one person to another. This virus does not discriminate between men and women, young and old, and does not spare anyone based on religion, color or class.

Social distancing is one of the few ways that has proven to be helpful in prevention of spread of CoronaVirus among the masses. Since the virus mainly spreads through respiratory droplets of an infected person, maintaining an appropriate distance from other people while in group settings is proving to be beneficial. The other method that is being highly recommended by experts is washing hands frequently with soap and water or using hand sanitizers. Wearing face masks or covers is yet another method to prevent the spread of the virus, since the infected person or a suspect will mitigate the chances of infecting other people since their noses and mouths will be covered.

Our GPs launched this project with an aim of making face masks available to people who might not have access to them due to many reasons like non-availability in the market or exorbitant price, while also raising awareness on CoronaVirus at the time of mask-distribution.

So far, our girls have distributed more than 5000 hand-made masks to people living in the villages in the district Udham Singh Nagar and Dehradun in the States of Uttarakhand, Telangana, and Karnataka in India. And the project continues…
